Traveling Off the Grid? Take Spotify With You!

Is your cabin fever hitting a fever pitch right about now? For frequent travellers who have been grounded by the events of the pandemic pretty much all year long, the wanderlust is practically unbearable! Take heart, adventurers- there is still fun to be had outside the four walls of your living room, if you don't mind going somewhere remote. After all, what could be a better form of social distancing than taking yourself completely away from the things of man? There may be no better time than right now to plan an off-the-grid vacation, either on your own or with the members of your quarantine bubble.

But just because you plan to get away from civilizations for a few days (or weeks, or months) and live in a remote mountain cabin or RV, that doesn't mean you have to let go of all your creature comforts. With a Spotify premium gift card, you can start a Spotify Platinum subscription. It's easy to ensure that you have all your favorite music along for the ride, even when there's no Wi-Fi signal for miles! Here are some tips for getting your Spotify playlists ready for your epic off-the-grid adventure.

Download Before You Depart

This is probably a no-brainer, but it's worth mentioning that in order to have all your favorite Spotify playlists with you in a place with no wireless connection, you will need to download them to your device before you leave. Take advantage of your home wi-fi one last time before you head off the grid by downloading any playlists or individual songs you think you'll need to create the perfect soundtrack for your adventure! Also before you go: Pick up several sets of bulk earbuds for your trip. Earbuds will be lost of destroyed along your journey, so stock up before you leave!

Get the App

If you normally listen to Spotify on your desktop or laptop computer, you may not have the Spotify app downloaded to your mobile device. Make sure to not only download this app but also sign in with your user credentials before you head out of town. This will be the only way you can be sure your Spotify tunes are traveling with you, unless you were planning on taking your laptop everywhere you go!

Double-Check Downloads

Downloading individual songs and playlists to your Spotify library is pretty straightforward- just tap the plus-sign symbol next to each track you want to add. However, it's good practice to check your Library tab in order to make sure the downloads have gone through properly.

Know Your Limits

Even for Spotify Platinum listeners, there is a limit to the number of tracks you are allowed to have downloaded to your device at one time. To free up space, simply go into your library to remove any existing downloads you wish to replace.

Follow these tips to ensure the ultimate listening experience, even when you're far away from the nearest WiFi signal. Happy trails!
