What is an Automobile Accident?

An automobile accident is an unexpected incident in which a motor vehicle collides with another, resulting in injury or property damage. It can also involve pedestrians, animals, or other vehicles. Depending on the severity of the accident and the circumstances surrounding it, an automobile accident can have serious legal and financial implications for all parties involved.

The most common causes of automobile accidents include driver error, speeding, reckless driving, distracted driving (texting while driving) and alcohol or drug impairment. Hazardous road conditions, vehicle defects, and weather-related events can cause automobile accidents. The state of Colorado takes automobile accidents seriously and has laws in place to punish those who are found to be at fault.
